FIELDMASTER.... Yep that classic F44 built like a sherman tank, 4 knobs and a Union Jack on the side, or at least I think it had. Anyhow it's been some time since I owned that metal detector....blame it on cars, women, beer or whatever but i'm back for a while now and staggered by the choice on offer, that's the metal detectors and Not the women by the way.

I see from a little searching that Fieldmaster are still going! and wondered if anyone had anything good to say about the ( British) company or it's products or any other British company for that matter. I'm looking to spend upto £400 max and with a family and a few other interests, don't get that much time so i'm looking for a no-nonsence, no whistles and bells machine for general, field and beach work and some have suggested XP ADX 150 or White's machine.

Any advice much needed and appreciated.

Thanks.

Paul
