just to add its the same risen design inside as it is out side the peice is concaved so must have been wanted to be seen at both sides,any ideas or thoughts on what it is ?????????? ??? ??? ???

This is a very interesting one, a dagger guard or roundel? Gonna keep searching around on this one.
