Hello all, just started detecting and thoroughly enjoying it, to be fair it's something I've always wanted to do in the back of my mind but never had the time, walking my dogs, playing football, match fishing and so on but age has caught up on me with the footy and don't go fishing that often now so I've bought myself a Garrett euro ace, decent pin pointer & necessary accessories and I'm very lucky, managed to get a large permission straight away off a farmer I know locally through fishing, it has a lot of history 5 huge fields and about a mile of pasture riverside within a loop of the river tees, been on it a couple of times so far, loads of trash horse shoes, nails, tinfoil, barbed wire, shotgun cartridges, bits of lead (I don't get why I get random bits of that), small rocks that give a signal! Etc, 1 coin so far I was proper chuffed with a Scotland Charles II turner but unfortunately in poor condition, a few musket balls, buttons, bullets & a few queer looking things, I can already see I have a lot to learn as I'm total noob especially learning signal sounds and so on but totally hooked with it an itching to get out with my detector as often as I can, the Mrs is already going nuts ;D ;D
So I'm looking forward to hopefully getting advice and ID's off experience d people in this hobby and grateful for websites like this... :)
Welcome and thanks for posting! Hopefully we can get your weird find identified!
