Hi this is my first post here so please be gentle!
I'm sorry if this is the wrong section but I dont really know where to start and as I am talking Thames I thought this was ok,
Till now I have had no intererest in any metal detecting at all, never tried it or know anything about it.
I work in Wapping, almost right on the Thames side, I wall down to the river whenever I can for a change of scenery and it's crossed my mind that I do have some interest in detecting.
Sorry to waffle but I need some practical guidance as to what I would need when it come to detectors and whatever else I may need, I have already found at least four access points downstream of Tower bridge but need some assistance....
What are the best areas on the river to look, upstream of Tower bridge or downstream, I prefer downstream as I know the area better.
I dont even know what I am looking for but keen to learn, I must admit I have a real fetish for anything like fishing hooks or lead fishing weights etc but have no idea if they are common finds.
Again sorry to waffle on but I only really have an interest in searching the Thames foreshore!
Oh and are fishing hooks etc common finds?!
thanks!
So thats a no then eh!!
Oh well sort of sums up what I was fearing about secrecy over anything like this
I'll just carry on guessing ;D
I would really love to be searching the Thames too Hermes, so you certainly aren't alone, I'm going to chase some up to see if I can get them to answer some questions on the forum.
