I am looking for any information on Ed Mullard's Lost Tunnel of Leechtown, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. Interested in any newspaper stories, books etc. Have there been any recent attempts to locate the tunnel? Have any more Spanish or Chinese artefacts been found in the area recently?

Any information gratefully received!

I posted a rough out line of the lost tunnel of Leechtown story here: Ed Mullard's Lost Tunnel of Leechtown, Vancouver Island

Maybe it will jog some memories.

I am still trying to track down books, newspaper reports, magazine articles or any information about the Lost Tunnel of Leechtown or any information about finds of Spanish or Chinese artefacts on Vancouver Island, particularly in the area around Victoria/Leechtown. If you have any information please email me.

Some useful advice from the British Colombia Fish and Wildlife Branch about bear activity.

Anybody heading up to Leechtown should certainly Bear it in mind.

In the preliminary stages of planning an expedition.
Will keep posted of further developments...

I used to live on Vancouver island . I have been out to leech town when I was young. I have heard that there used to be people who farmed in the area in the early days . They were driven out by the wolves. The family owned sheep and they lost a lot . I was told about the tunnel and about other things that happend there.

Hi Rose, Have you read our main Ed Mullard's Lost Tunnel of Leechtown, Vancouver Island page? Can you add anything to any of the stories? Were artefacts or anything of interest found in the area that you know of? Did you ever meet anyone who knew Mullard or saw the Jordan Meadows cannon etc.?

Ed Mullard's Lost Tunnel of Leechtown, Vancouver Island page updated!

Thanks to Sue, who contacted me by email, we have an updated link for the original Times Colonist article from September 21, 1969! The Times Colonist now has an online archive so this could be a gold mine of information on Leechtown and the tunnel!
