Settings and Advice for Non-Computerized Metal Detectors

This page is for those metal detectorists that haven't got into the computerized metal detector craze.

Generally speaking, keep the discrimination control on your detector as low as you can stand, yes you will end up digging junk, but you will also reduce the chances of missing something good. Keep the sensitivity as high as you can stand, you don't want the detector generating lots of false signals. Turn the sensitivity to a point where it is generating lots of falses, then back it down slowly until they disappear.
